Bring your friends and family out to this super flat and fun 5k run on Saturday, August 17th.  Later that evening join your fellow participants as we all head to Providence Park to cheer on the Portland Thorns FC against the Washington Spirit!  All participants will receive a complimentary ticket to match!

AM I REGISTERED?

CAN I GET A REFUND?

Sorry there are no refunds for any of our events.

CAN I TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION TO SOMEONE ELSE?

Sorry there are no transfers for this event.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY REGISTRATION?

All participants will receive:

  • A ticket into a Portland Thorns FC match vs. the Washington Spirit.
  • Those over 21 will get a complimentary beer or cider from Widmer Brothers Brewing or 2 Towns Cider (soda for those under 21).
  • The first 750 participants will receive a 2019 commemorative Roses on the River scarf.
  • The first 300 registered get a 2018 scarf and entered to become one of 75 people to meet some Thorns players after the match on the 17th.
  • Each finisher will get a finisher rose.
  • There will be a  DJ, snacks and much more!
AM I GUARANTEED A SCARF?

Scarfs are guaranteed to the first 750 participants.

HOW DO I RECEIVE MY THORNS TICKET?

You will receive your ticket(s) to the match when you pick up your race packet.

WHEN IS THE AWARD CEREMONY / WHAT ARE THE AWARDS?

The award ceremony will take place at approximately 10:30am. We will announce the winners, and have trophies for the top three male / female overall.  We have ribbons for top three male / female in each age category.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

Update as of 8/7 – Due to protests happening on the 17th, we are moving the race out of downtown and over to the Eastbank Festival Plaza located at 10 SE Main St.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PERSONAL INFO, RACE DISTANCE OR ADD MERCHANDISE?

You can update your personal info with the exception of your name (Gender, Date of Birth, Email Address, Day Phone, Mailing Address, Emergency Contact Name/Phone, How Did You Hear About This Event, t-shirt size and Custom Questions.) by following these steps

IS THERE A TIME LIMIT TO COMPLETE THE EVENT?

Yes there is.  All participants must run or walk a 25 min per mile pace or faster to compete in this event.

IS THERE PARKING?

There is plenty of parking in downtown Portland. There is on-street parking as well as many Smart Parks located near the start / finish. However, we encourage everyone to carpool or take public transportation. There are MAX stops within blocks of the start / finish. We also encourage you to ride your bikes to our events!

WHERE DO THE RACES START AND FINISH?

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT WAVE AM I IN?

During the registration process, you will be asked your “per mile” pace for a 5k race.  We will determine your wave based on what time you put there.  It is important that you put an accurate pace there to prevent bottlenecking on the course and ensure all participants have an enjoyable time.  Your wave time will be printed on the back of your bib, so make sure you come to the Friday packet pickup so you know which wave you are assigned to.  Wave times are also posted on these web pages.

WHERE DO I PICKUP MY PACKET?

Packet pickup will be at Road Runner Sports located at 29 NW 23rd Place, Portland, OR from 11am – 7pm on Friday August 16th.

WHERE IS THE KIDS RACE?

There is no kid’s race for this event.

HOW / WHERE DO I GET MY ID CHECKED AND DO I REALLY NEED IT?

Yes, you definitely need your ID. You must have a stamp or a wristband to get your beer. It is best if you get your ID checked EARLY and get it done with. Then you can avoid one more line when you finish. We have an ID check set up starting in the morning. You can get your ID checked there or at the beer area.

IS THERE A GEAR CHECK?

For your convenience we have a complementary clothing check, we have reusable bags for your use but we encourage you to bring your own. IMPORTANT! Please do not leave valuables at the gear check. Although our gear checks are very safe and secure, we will not be responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items.

CAN I LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE I RUN?

Yes you can. However, please keep the volume at a reasonable level for everyone’s safety. There is always a chance that emergency vehicles or the occasional random vehicle might be present on the course and you will need to hear them coming.

CAN I RUN WITH MY DOG?

If you have a service dog, you are welcome to run with your dog. Otherwise we do not allow dogs, cats, monkeys, zebras etc into the event.

CAN I RUN WITH A JOGGING STROLLER?

Yes.
