Let us set the scene for you...

It's August and you've already run all the fun Spring and early Summer events in town. Now you’re bored because there are no more cool local events to do until Run Like Hell, right? Wrong!

The Mt. Tabor Doggie Dash takes place Sunday, August 24th and is a great event for everyone! No dog necessary, just bring yourself or some friends and take part in one of the coolest events around, in one of Portland's most amazing parks! This is such a great evnet partly because it takes place on shady tree lined roads within the park, but also because there is great music, tasty beer and yummy food after the event!

Bring everyone for this fun, family-friendly event!

* We strongly recommend you attend the In-store pick-up; lines on raceday can be long. We allow and encourage you to have friends or family members pick up your packet for you if you cannot attend the in-store packet pickup.

ABOUT Autism Service Dogs of America:
Autism Service Dogs of America (ASDA) is an Oregon based nonprofit that has been raising, training, and placing service dogs with individuals with autism spectrum disorders nationwide since 2002. ASDA’s service dogs provide physical safety and an emotional anchor for children with autism. With their child accompanied by a service dog, families are able to engage in activities as simple as going to the park or going out to eat as a family. As the child with autism’s sensory system becomes overwhelmed by external stimuli, the service dog provides both parent and child with a stabilizing influence. When out in the community, the service dog increases safety and helps eliminate behavioral outbursts by helping the child stay emotionally regulated and reducing the fears or challenging situations that can cause flight-based reactions. The service dog’s calming presence can ease feelings of anxiety and allow the child to develop more language skills as well as increase socially appropriate behaviors and responses.
