Congratulations on being the team captain for the Rose City Relay. We’ve tried to make your role as captain as easy as possible with online tools for runner and volunteer sign-up as well as a detailed course guide and event handbook. Team Requirement:Teams are self-supporting which means they carry their own water and food during the race. We do not have aid stations and water stops along the course. Each team is limited to one support vehicle which is described as a passenger car, passenger van or sport utility vehicle (SUV).  No vehicles wider than 80 inches or longer than 20 feet are allowed.  This means no RV’s, motor homes or limousines.

Average Pace & Time Requirement: In order to complete the full 67 mile relay, all running teams must maintain an 11 minute per mile pace. The course will close 12 hours after the start of the first heat (7:00am to 7:00pm)  For any team who cannot complete the 67 mile course in this time, we offer an alternative 44 mile course that begins at the Smith and Bybee lake exchange zone.  Teams participating in the 44 mile relay must maintain a 16 minute per mile or faster pace.  Any team still on the course after 12 hours will be required to stop and leave the course.

Course Guide and Event Handbook:  Please take the time to read the Course Guide and Event Handbook. There you will find a lot of helpful info about race day, the individual leg distances and difficulties as well as a Team Time Sheet you can use on race day.

VIEW EVENT GUIDE

Runner sign up:  Each team member is required to sign up. We suggest sending them an email with your team name, the team password and the link to sign up. Each runner provides a 10k time, shirt size as well as emergency contact information.

HOW TO INVITE A TEAM MEMBER

Volunteer Sign Up: Each team is required to provide a volunteer to work a 4 hour shift the day of the event or pay $75 to Hire A Volunteer.  The Volunteer requirement is waived if all of your team is greater than 100 miles from the starting line

VIEW VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES

Start Times:  Final start times will be posted on Monday July 10th.   At this point your team should be complete.  We also use the start time sheet to show what teams are missing runners and volunteers.  If you feel that you need a different start time please email us and we’ll work with you.

Team Captain’s Meeting / Van Decorating Party:  We’ll have a Team Captain’s meeting  and packet pick up on Friday July 21st at Road Runner Sports. We also have a Van Decorating Party the same time. The packet pick up and team captain meetings are required.  There will be no race day packet pick up.  The van decorating party is optional but its gonna be fun!
